The Hosts

Visionary hosts with a sense of design and hospitality.
Ursula Schelle-Müller and Dieter Müller have shaped the Motel One Group into one of the leading brands in the hotel industry and at the same time realized their passion for special hotel concepts in projects such as the Kitzhof in Kitzbühel and the Resort Das Achental in Grassau. With the Chiemgauhof - Lakeside Retreat, they are now realizing a very personal vision: a retreat that focuses on the beauty of Lake Chiemsee.

With passion & flair

A personal vision

With a keen sense of architecture, materials and atmosphere, Ursula Schelle-Müller and Dieter Müller have created a hotel that blends seamlessly into its surroundings. The Chiemgauhof - Lakeside Retreat embodies their idea of timeless elegance: minimalist design, natural materials and a construction method that opens up the view of Lake Chiemsee and puts the focus on nature. Every detail - from the wooden façade, which develops a silver-grey patina over time, to the handcrafted furniture - reflects their love of aesthetics and quality.

Distinctive character

The collaboration

The Chiemgauhof is more than just a place to stay - it is the result of a unique collaboration between Ursula Schelle-Müller and Matteo Thun (pictured). The owner: "For me personally, it was a great desire to realize a project with Matteo Thun. I am inspired by his philosophy, his architecture, which makes the soul of the place visible and reflects his passion for sustainability," she says, describing her vision for the Chiemgauhof.

Laying the foundation stone

On May 9, 2023, the building owners Ursula and Dieter Müller laid the foundation stone for the new Chiemgauhof on Lake Chiemsee together with District Administrator Siegfried Walch, Übersee Mayor Herbert Strauch, Milan star architect Matteo Thun and around 50 invited guests.
